| “Swami Dayananda Ashram (Arsha Vidya Pitham) is located at Rishikesh, 223 KM North East of Delhi via Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Roorkie and Haridwar. From Haridwar, Rishikesh is 20 KM away. |

1. Coming by Car

After entering Rishikesh city look out for Chandrabhaka bridge, which is situated on the Ram Jhula road before Andhra Ashram.

Take a right turn after crossing the bridge near Hotel Shivlok. From the right turn ashram is just one KM away.

Enquire about Purani Jhadi or Swami Dayananda Ashram. (Note: Purani Jhadi is also known as Shisham Jhadi)

2. Coming by train
There are several trains a day between Delhi and Haridwar, schedule is posted below. Express trains are not available to Rishikesh. So, You can book tickets online upto Haridwar Junction at http://www.indianrail.gov.in. You can either hire a taxi from ashram sources to bring you directly to the ashram, or you can take a taxi, bus, or rickshaw to Swami dayananda ashram in Rishikesh as per the directions given above. |

3. Coming by air
Jolly Grant Airport is located 16 KMs away from Rishikesh on the way to Dehradun. There were flights running daily between Delhi and Jolly Grant Airport in Rishikesh/Dehradun.However these have been temporarily suspended until the end of 2007. The airport is only about 1/2 hour from the ashram. From there again you can take a taxi or bus to Rishikesh.
Please Note that Air Flights to Rishikesh/Dehradun from Delhi have been suspended until the end of 2007 in order to expand and improve the airport. Log to WWW.AIRDECCAN.NET to book your electronic tickets as soon as flights are operable. |
